Emergency Notification

Crosby offer an emergency notification platform that allows you to create groups of people (to be notified) and allow them to choose their preferred communication method. For example:

  • Closure of a school, university or college – Informing all students/parents of the closure in their preferred way
  • Gas leak, water leak or electrical supply failure in the local area
  • Flood alerts, extreme weather warnings, adverse weather alerts
  • Fire damage of an office, burglary, or other business temporary closure
  • Terrorist bombings – Informing company’s employees not to come into work, issuing instant stay away communication

All of the above informs each group member in their preferred communication method. For example:

Mrs. Smith might prefer a text message to her and her children’s mobiles when the school is closed.

Mr. Jones prefers an email to his blackberry if:

  • A group member could receive an automated phone call playing the message to them, asking them to confirm receipt of message
  • A group member could receive a text message displaying the message along with any internet links (optional)
  • A group member could receive an email with the message enclosed and with additional attachments. (For example emergency procedures or emergency contact manuals
  • A group member could receive a fax containing the message
  • An external device (see below)

Nonfictions to these groups can be triggered by a range of ways:

  • A phone call from the group owner to a specific number (with a pin number)
  • An incoming text message to a group
  • An email to a group
  • An incoming fax to a group
  • An external trigger

External Triggers

External triggers are a range of custom delivery methods that perform an action on secure receipt of a message for a group. This of course could be things like a school closure, building evacuation or natural disaster.

Examples of external triggers could be:

  • Open doors inside a building
  • Open electric gates to a compound or secure facility
  • Turn on lights, hearing, cooling or shut down systems or servers
  • Start a custom electrical/electronic process
  • Automatically change road signs, airport arrival/departure boards or even trigger emergency broadcasts on Television or Radio
  • Burglary of a house, commercial building, break in of a remote container, or facility
  • Start/control an electrical backup generator, UPS system or PLC
  • Run a custom computer program of your choice

In fact, Crosby can integrate its platform to almost do anything required, and will work with you to enable a device, service or anything to be controlled upon a notification either singly, or as part of a group of devices, systems or people.

Redundancy, Reliability and Security

As part of any service, having a reliable secure and redundant service is integral to the operation of and communications system.

Having such an application requires considerable infrastructure with years of investment and 24 hour staff monitoring the solution, so it performs its tasks within a moments notice, as and delay could cost money, time or even lives.

Crosby have invested significant amounts of money into its network over the years, and after 15 years in business, Crosby had the experience to deliver such a service within expectations.

Our Emergency Notification service operates across three separate sites around the Brinish Isles, but kept within the British Isles for security reasons.
